Technopark Stroytech research laboratory for construction and building materials
“Technopark Stroytech” is a structural unit of Satbayev University that operates in the field of construction materials science and construction technologies. The laboratory conducts fundamental and applied research, develops innovative solutions for the industry, and performs laboratory testing of materials, products, and structures.
The research activities are led by professors and PhDs from Satbayev University with many years of experience in the field of construction materials science. Young scientists, master’s students, and doctoral candidates are actively involved in research projects—this contributes to the development of the university’s academic schools, the training of qualified professionals, and the integration of science, education, and industry.
History of the laboratory’s establishment
The laboratory was established as part of the scientific and technical program BR21882292, “Integrated Development of a Sustainable Construction Industry: Innovative Technologies, Production Optimization, Efficient Use of Resources, and Creation of a Technology Park.” The program is being implemented by Satbayev University with targeted program funding from the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023–2025 (Agreement No. 447-PCF-23-25 dated November 15, 2023).
The establishment of the laboratory was approved by a resolution of the Board of Directors of the National Academic Organization “K. I. Satpayev Kazakh National Research Technical University” dated February 19, 2025 (Minutes No. 01) and by University Order No. 80-P/Ө dated February 20, 2025.
The laboratory’s areas of activity:
• scientific research on building materials and technologies;
• testing of materials, products, and structures;
• development and implementation of innovative solutions for the industry;
• scientific and technical support for research and applied projects;
• expert evaluation and expert opinions;
• training and professional development using state-of-the-art equipment;
• training of scientific personnel.
Laboratory Structure
The laboratory consists of two complementary sectors: the research sector and the production sector.
The research sector conducts research under state-funded scientific and technical programs and develops innovative technologies and materials geared toward practical application. One of its developments is the “Diatomite” technology for producing dry construction mixes, which is being successfully implemented in Kazakhstan’s construction industry.
The production sector conducts laboratory tests on construction materials, products, and structures, monitors product quality, and performs inspections at enterprises and construction sites.
Collaboration
The laboratory is open to collaboration with industrial enterprises, research organizations, government agencies, and foreign universities.
