Department of Robotics and mechatronics in mechanical engineering
The Department of "Robotics and Mechatronics in Mechanical Engineering" is a structural unit of the Institute of Energy and Mechanical Engineering named after A. Burkitbayev and carries out educational, research, and innovative activities in the field of the development and application of robotic and mechatronic systems in mechanical engineering.
The department’s educational activities focus on training specialists in the design, modeling, programming, and operation of industrial robots, mechatronic devices, automated production complexes, and intelligent control systems. The educational process is based on the integration of fundamental engineering training with practice-oriented learning, utilizing modern digital technologies, software systems, and laboratory equipment.
The department’s research activities cover the automation and robotization of technological processes, the development of mechatronic modules, sensor and drive systems, as well as the implementation of artificial intelligence elements and digital twins in mechanical engineering production.
The department actively collaborates with leading industrial enterprises, research organizations, and foreign universities, ensuring that educational programs meet international standards and the demands of the modern labor market. Graduates of the department are in demand in high-tech industries and are capable of working effectively in conditions of rapid technological development.
Department Goal
The goal of the Department of "Robotics and Mechatronics in Mechanical Engineering" is to train competitive next-generation engineers with fundamental knowledge and practical competencies in robotics, mechatronic systems, and the automation of mechanical engineering production, capable of developing, implementing, and operating intelligent technical systems in the context of industrial digital transformation and the evolution of production concepts.
Starting from the 2025–2026 academic year, Shingissov Beibit Tumenbaevich was appointed as the Head of the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics in Mechanical Engineering.
