School of transport engineering and logistics named after M. Tynyshpayev

The M. Tynyshpaev School of Transport Engineering and Logistics at Satbayev University trains highly qualified specialists in the fields of transport engineering and logistics, equipping students with cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills that are in high demand in rapidly developing sectors of the economy. Graduates of the school successfully pursue careers in transport, logistics, the railway industry, and mechanical engineering.

The school offers two key academic programs: "Transport Engineering" and "Logistics." Despite its relatively recent establishment, the school has achieved significant milestones: it has trained skilled specialists, established international partnerships, signed cooperation memoranda, implemented double-degree programs, and successfully obtained funding for scientific and applied projects through competitive grants.

The school actively fosters partnerships with universities in the USA, China, Europe, Russia, and Poland, as well as with leading domestic and international companies, including KazLogistics, Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan, Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting, DB Cargo, Zhebe Logistics, Astana Motors, KTZ, and the international center “Khorgos – Eastern Gate.” Among the school’s academic partners are Xi'an Railway Vocational Technical College (China), Silesian University of Technology (Poland), Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Hungarian Academy of Sciences Business and Law (Hungary), Budapest Metropolitan University (Hungary), Brunel University London (UK), and KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden).

The school is involved in joint infrastructure and research projects, including the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in collaboration with Astana Motors, as well as projects in automotive engineering and transport technologies. A key element of the educational process is its close integration with industry.

A memorandum of cooperation has been signed with Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan, covering student internships, graduate employment, faculty internships, and the involvement of industry experts in teaching through the "Professor Production" format.

An educational center (a branch of the department) has been established at the factory, focused on practical, industry-oriented training and collaborative scientific research. The modern material and technical base of the school includes the Hyundai Engineering Lab – a state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratory equipped with real engines, a model of an electric vehicle, and diagnostic equipment for both training and applied research.

The school implements elements of dual education: 4th-year students undergo a year-long internship without interrupting their studies at leading industry companies, including SaryArka AutoProm, Allur Auto, Porsche Centre Almaty, Astana Motors, KTZ – Freight Transportation, Zhebe Logistics, and others.

The school actively promotes international academic mobility and double-degree programs. These programs include:

  • A 2+2 bachelor’s degree program with Xi'an Railway Institute (China)
  • A master's degree program with Silesian University of Technology (Poland)

The school’s faculty is deeply engaged in scientific research and the commercialization of innovations. Between 2023 and 2025, the school will implement scientific projects with a total funding of over 1.7 billion tenge, including grant-based, program-targeted, commercializable, and contract-based projects.

The M. Tynyshpaev School of Transport Engineering and Logistics at Satbayev University is an effective educational and industrial hub, preparing competitive specialists for the transport sector of the future.
