Institute of Metallurgy and Ore Beneficiation
A major world-class research institute that carries out fundamental and applied research and development of new technologies in the field of mineral processing, metallurgy and materials science. It was established in 1945 in accordance with the Resolution of the Council of People's Commissars of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic and became the center of scientific and technological support for the organization of new non-ferrous metal production in Kazakhstan. The Institute has a Pilot metallurgical production facility for testing the developed technologies.
