Satbayev University is seeking an engineer to join a scientific project

An engineer is required to participate in a scientific project (off-staff position) at the Department of Hydrogeology, Engineering and Petroleum Geology.

Educational requirements: A higher degree in a relevant field is required. Candidates with secondary vocational-technical education may also apply if they have relevant experience in education or scientific research.

Work experience requirements: No work experience is required for candidates with higher education. For those with vocational-technical education, 1–2 years of work experience and a recommendation from a previous employer are required.

Required knowledge, skills, and competencies:

• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Corel Draw

• Experience working with instruments and equipment in geology and organic geochemistry

• Skills in creating graphical attachments and histograms

• Ability to work in TEAMS and ZOOM

Responsibilities:

• Conducting laboratory analyses in organic geochemistry

• Working with archival materials and published literature related to the project

• Preparing graphical materials (using software such as Corel Draw)

• Maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment in working condition

• Preparing project reports

• Drafting official documents, letters, and requests

Candidates from geological exploration, chemical, and oil & gas production companies are preferred.
