AP19174728 Study of the Efficiency Limit of Organometallic Perovskites Based on CH3NH3SnI3 and CH3NH3PbI3 for Photovoltaics

The purpose of this work is to study the limit of energy conversion efficiency and stability of an organometallic perovskite cell, including by developing an algorithm for modeling a thin-film perovskite solar cell with different characteristics that affect the limit of energy conversion efficiency.

The idea of the project is to study a generalized model of an efficient perovskite solar cell based on CH3NH3SnI3 and CH3NH3PbI3, the characteristic of which depends on the influence of the density of bulk and interfacial defects, by studying the quantitative analysis of the numerical data of various CH3NH3SnI3 and CH3NH3PbI3 structures, as well as the degradation of the functional layer of a thin-film solar cell based on CH3NH3PbI3 exposed to ambient atmosphere using FT-IR spectroscopy. The actual problem of the project is to determine the marginal efficiency of a solar cell by combining the parameters and properties of the materials of the absorbing and transport layers, as well as to study ways to increase the stability of solar cells.

Based on the results of the implementation of the scientific project, the following minimum results will be obtained for the entire period of the project:

  1. at least 2 (two) articles in journals from the first three quartiles by impact factor in the Web of Science database or with a CiteScore percentile in the Scopus database of at least 50;
  2. publication of monographs, books and (or) chapters in books of foreign and (or) Kazakh publishing houses: not planned;
  3. obtaining patents: not planned;
  4. development of scientific, technical, design documentation: not planned;
  5. dissemination of the results of the work among potential users, the community of scientists and the general public: participation with oral presentations at major international conferences. The results of the research will be published in articles of rating journals;
  6. other measurable results in accordance with the requirements of the tender documentation and the specifics of the project.
