Sustainable Development Goals Project Office

The Sustainable Development Goals Project Office was set up by the decision of the Board of Directors of NJSC KazNRTU named after K.I. Satpayev on October 24, 2023 on the basis of the University Project Office.

The SDG Project Office organizes the elaboration of the Sustainable Development strategy and policies of the University and ensures their implementation. It coordinates the academic, scientific, innovative and social activities of the University and its structural divisions in the field of Sustainable Development.

The SDG Project Office cooperates with local and foreign universities, research centers, international organizations, NGOs, business and government agencies on the issues of sustainable development.

To achieve this, the SDG Project Office carries out the following tasks:

1.  organizes the elaboration of a strategy for the Sustainable Development Goals of the University;

2.  forms policies for Sustainable Development in collaboration with the corresponding structural divisions of the University;

3.  elaborates and conducts analysis of the implementation of the action plan for the introduction of Sustainable Development Goals;

4. advises the structural divisions of the University in the development and implementation of Sustainable Development tasks and projects, following the principles of the UN Global Treaty and project management;

5.  organizes the work on involving the teaching staff, administration and students in the implementation of projects aimed at building commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals;

6.  cooperates with the international academic community, organizations, institutions, NGOs, business and government agencies on the issues of Sustainable Development;

7. organizes and conducts republican and international conferences, seminars and other events aimed at Sustainable Development;

8. provides assistance to the institutes, centers and structural divisions of the University in the formation and creation of educational programs and projects in the field of Sustainable Development;

9. participates in the development and coordination of experience exchange programs for University employees for the purposes of Sustainable Development, including foreign internships and business trips;

10. forms a knowledge base of benchmarks, cases and prospects of Sustainable Development.

The SDG Project Office is a structural unit of the University. The head of the project office is appointed and reports directly to the Rector of the University and is in charge of forming the office team.

Zhanna Tulegenova – head of the SDG Project Office, performs strategic and representative functions.

Aliya Zhaksalykova  – chief manager of the SDG Project Office, carries out organizational and communication functions. 

Aizhan Kalkayeva – manager of the SDG Project Office, provides information and analytical support for the work of the SDG Project Office.
