AP23487120 "Development of technology for manufacturing cylindrical parts used for military purposes"

Relevance

The relevance of the project is due to the lack of stable supplies of artillery shells to Kazakhstan in the context of the escalating geopolitical situation and military conflicts in the world. The development of an affordable and energy-efficient technology for the production of projectiles, adaptable to existing production facilities and mobile solutions, will provide the country with the necessary ammunition and increase its defense capability.

Purpose

The aim of the work is to develop a technology for manufacturing shell casings and artillery shell parts by combining additive and cutting technologies.

Expected and achieved results

The results of consideration of types and materials of artillery shells.

Database of microstructures of artillery shell materials. A database of standard wire materials that are similar or identical to the materials of artillery shell casings. The relevance of the project topic is as follows: the wars taking place in the world and the geopolitical situation caused by them have deprived Kazakhstan of stable supplies of shells, and only training shells are produced in the country, which do not cover the annual demand. Therefore, the development of a low-cost projectile manufacturing technology that requires small initial investments, is energy efficient, integrated into existing production and suitable for installation on a mobile platform with the possibility of autonomous operation, is an extremely important and urgent task today.
