AP23489493 "Monitoring of micro/nanoplastics in surface waters of Almaty and Astana and application of membranes for their removal"
Relevance
Samples of surface waters and bottom sediments from various surface reservoirs of the cities of Astana and Almaty and their surroundings have become relevant. Drinking water samples produced in Kazakhstan became the object of research for the determination of bisphenol A.
Purpose
The results obtained can be used for a preliminary environmental assessment of drinking water produced in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Expected and achieved results
According to the schedule, water and sediment samples were taken, stored, transported, and prepared for analysis. The initial results of the analysis of water samples taken from the surface of the Nura and Yesil rivers showed the absence of microplastics. Consequently, microplastics settle in deeper layers of the reservoir. For the first time, bottled water samples were analyzed for the presence of bisphenol A released by plastic. Water samples from plastic bottles "Tassai", "Arzu" and "Pavlodarskaya" were examined. The results showed that when examining samples of drinking water collected at room temperature from these manufacturers by HPLC, Bisphenol A was not detected. The research will be continued.
