Professional biography
Kuspangaliyev Bolat Uraikhanovich has been teaching, research and production experience for over 40 years. He is an Honorary Architect of the Republic of Kazakhstan, academician of the International Academy of Architecture of the Countries of the East (MAASV), academician of the International Academy of Architecture (MAAM), chairman of the Kazakhstan branch of the International Academy of Architecture, a member of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Kazakhstan, winner of the “Altyn Adam” prize - the person of the year in the nomination "For Contribution to the Development of Architecture and Higher Education in Kazakhstan".
He has a number of professional awards: for his achievements in the development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an excellent student in the education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, medals of the Union of Architects and Urban Planners of Kazakhstan.
Upon completion of training, he worked as a senior architect, head of the department "Architectural and planning tasks" of the architectural and planning department of the Alma-Ata city executive committee; teacher, deputy dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Kazakh Polytechnic Institute named after Lenin.
Since 1980 - vice-rector for evening and correspondence education, vice-rector for academic affairs, first vice-rector of the Alma-Ata Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering (since 1992 - the Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering (KazGASA)).
In 2002, under his leadership, the first dissertation council was created in the history of Kazakhstan, specializing in 18.00.01– “Theory and History of Architecture, Restoration and Reconstruction of Historical and Architectural Heritage”.
Since 2003 - at the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev: Director of the Department of Science and International Relations, Professor, Head of the Department of Architecture and Design, from 2016 to the present - Director of the Bassenov Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
Along with a lot of organizational, educational and scientific work, he is constantly engaged in design practice.
Under his leadership the Center for Contemporary Architecture "AZD" was created, during which more than 20 major works were carried out, including the multi-functional residential complex Highville Astana in Nur-Sultan (Astana) and the multi-functional residential complex Apple Town in Almaty, which was awarded the gold medal of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the Republican contest of the best architectural works for 2003-2006 in the nomination "Architecture. Project".
