Professional biography
Moldabekov Murat - Phd., Associate Professor of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, KazNRTU named after. K.I. Satpayeva. Graduated from the Kazakh National Technical University in 1998 with honors. From 1998 to 2002, he worked at OJSC Ozenmunaigas in the city of Zhanaozen as an operator, a foreman in the underground well repair shop, a process engineer in the oil and gas production shop, and a leading process engineer in the technological department of the oil and gas production department. During his work at OJSC Ozenmunaigas, Moldabekov M.S. proved himself to be a highly qualified specialist in the oil and gas industry. In various emergency situations, he found the right solutions for the operation of production wells, took part in increasing the production of wells and in the introduction of various new technologies to optimize the operation of the Uzen and Karamandybas fields.
Since 2002, he worked at the Kazakh National Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev at the Department of Technology and Equipment of Well Drilling.
From 2003 to 2005, by decision of the competition committee, he worked at the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU), as a teacher in the departments of Geodesy, Geology, and Geophysics and Petroleum Engineering. Over the years of work at KBTU, he took an active part in the creation of the Department of Petroleum Engineering and developed the educational and methodological basis for the disciplines taught at this department. Participated in the creation of a laboratory base and in the preparation of methodological instructions for laboratory work on the installation of a well drilling simulator.
From 2005 to 2007 he worked as a teacher, from 2007 to 2015, based on the decision of the competition commission, he worked as a senior teacher at the Department of Technology and Engineering of Well Drilling of the Kazakh National Technical University named after K.I. Satpayeva. On March 30, 2007, gratitude was announced on behalf of the rector of the university for conscientious work in training highly qualified specialists.
During his time at KazNRTU named after K.I. Satbayev, he actively participated in expanding the laboratory base of the department, concluded agreements for practical training for university students at Drilling LLP, Repair LLP, Cruz LLP (Zhanaozen, Mangistau region) , Embamunaigas JSC (Atyrau); developed three electronic books (“Drilling equipment”, “Technology for drilling oil and gas wells” in Kazakh and Russian languages) and a textbook “Drilling and grouting fluids”, as well as many educational and methodological complexes and guidelines for related disciplines.
In 2013, he completed his master’s degree in specialty 6N0706-Geology and exploration of mineral deposits at the Caspian Public University. Defended his master's thesis on the topic “Modern technology for repairing gas wells without shutting off.”
In 2017-2018, he worked as a leading researcher in a scientific project on the topic “Improving technologies for repair and restoration work of technological wells using special projectiles” at KazNRTU. During the study, positive results were obtained and the studied devices in the form of cleaning projectiles were introduced at the Irkol field by Semizbay-U LLP. A patent was received for the developed device - Patent for invention No. 34200. Bulletin. No. 26 07/03/2020.
In 2018, he graduated from doctoral studies at KazNTU named after. K.I. Satpayev, specialty 6D070600 - Geology and exploration of mineral deposits. Successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Study of the causes of tension during the construction of geotechnological wells and the development of measures for their restoration.”
In 2019, on a competitive basis, he was hired as an assistant professor at KazNTU named after. K.Satbayev to the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the Institute of Geology, Oil and Mining named after K. Turysov. For the period 2020-2021 worked as deputy director for science at the Institute of Geology and Gas Engineering.
Moldabekov M. actively conducts scientific, educational, methodological and educational work in the Department of Petroleum Engineering. Continuous experience in scientific and pedagogical activity Moldabekova M.S. is more than 20 years. From 2002 to the present Moldabekov M. participated in various scientific projects. An application was submitted for grant funding on the research topic “Development of a hydrodynamic treatment device to restore the functionality of oil production and injection wells.”
He has personally and co-authored more than 40 scientific publications, 3 of which were published in rating journals peer-reviewed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. He has joint publications with Russian scientists V. Spirin and Yu. Budyukov. Hirsch index, or h-index, Moldabekova M. according to Scopus database – 2.
In November 2019, he participated in the development of test questions for applicants to master's programs from the National Testing Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and conducted an examination of test questions for teachers of technical colleges at the National Testing Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Under his leadership, 6 master’s students and 65 bachelor’s students defended their degrees in the specialty “Oil and Gas Engineering.” He is the scientific supervisor of 3 master's students and 1 doctoral student. He actively participated in the development of the educational program “Drilling engineering”. Since 2022, he has been directing the summer training and drilling practice for students at the KazNRTU training site in Kunaev.

Scientific projects
1. From 2017 to 2018, he worked as a leading researcher in a scientific project on the topic "Improvement of technologies of repair and restoration works of technological wells with the help of special shells" under KazNRTU named after K.I. Satbayev under the leadership of Professor A.K. Kassenov. In the course of the study, positive results were obtained and the investigated devices in the form of cleaning shells were introduced at the "Irkol" field of "Semizbai-U" LLP. A patent application was filed on the subject of the project.
2. Under the leadership of the Director of IGOandM, Syzdykov A.K., applied for the implementation of the research topic "Development of new technology and technical means for cleaning oil and gas wells using the cavitation effect of the purification liquid" in NC Kazmunaigaz Engineering with Professor A.K. Kassenov.
He has alone and co-authored more than 40 scientific publications, of which 2 are published in rating journals peer-reviewed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases.
